Sustainable Energy Seminar in Sofia, Bulgaria, 16 November 2009

The national seminar on EU policies in Bulgaria took place on 26th November in Sofia. 30 people, representatives of national NGOs and other stakeholders participated. From INFORSE-Europe Secretariat, Gunnar Boye Olesen participated.

The main topics discussed:
- European Sustainable Energy Successes: the renewable energy and energy efficiency needed for a transition to sustainable energy windpower, solar energy, sustainable biomass use, Zero and passive house buildings and others.
- The linkage with EU policies.
- Building directive, building requirements, labelling, inspections etc. the new directive
- Eco-design
- RES directive
- Energy Service Directive energy efficiency action plan and targets for energy efficiency
- Structural Funds: development in Bulgaria, examples from other countries
- International climate policies with update for COP15 in Copenhagen.
