Background: The EESC is an EU body established by the Treaty of Rome to assure the participation of Europe's organized civil society in the decision making of the EU. It does so by issuing opinions on EU policies and legislation. These opinions are influential factors in the EU decision making process.
The purpose of the public hearing is to contribute to the work of the EESC study group that is preparing an exploratory opinion on 'Education and training needs for the carbon-free energy society' .
The panel of the event. Among the presentations were: education in school and households by NGOs, EU funded training cooperation project, training needs of authorities concerning procurement, and training needs of building craftsmen, and architects.
